ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Based in Timmins, ON, we currently have an exciting opportunity for an Exploration Summer Student to join our Exploration team reporting to the Exploration Geologist, Ontario.

The Exploration Summer Student is a member of the Exploration team, working at various exploration sites and collaborates with other members of the division. They are responsible for carrying out surface exploration work on the various exploration properties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Foster a positive Health and Safety culture with contractors and coworkers.
  • Participate in Health & Safety meetings and ensure that environmental and safety protocols are followed on the work sites.
  • Participate in field mapping and other exploration activities.
  • Execute technical tasks related to core reception and logging.
  • Compile and incorporate historical data into databases from multiple sources to improve geological interpretations and maps.
  • Assist with labour related tasks in the core shack and on various exploration properties.

QUALIFICATIONS

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Enrolment in a bachelor’s degree program in geology or a related field.
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Excellent working knowledge of ArcGIS is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written).
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift upwards of 55 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license.
