ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Miner 4 to join our Mining team.
The Macassa Mine is a high-grade gold producer, with grade improving at depth, and a key valuation driver for Agnico Eagle. Located in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, the Macassa Mine remains one of the highest gold grade mines in the world. Macassa commenced operations in 2002, and with the discovery of the South Mine Complex has been able to increase its level of production significantly over the past five years. The mine is located in an area with well-developed infrastructure, including a provincial highway, a railway system and a private airport. High-grade ore is processed at the Macassa Mill, which currently has available capacity and is located in close proximity to the mine.
A Miner 4 is an entry level role to Mining and may work in varied areas of Mine Haulage (Production or Services) . The role supports others and is part of a team. Individual accountabilities apply to this role:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepared to complete & maintain competence with Ontario common core UG Mining modules:
- Induction, General Inspection, Scaling, Tag & Lockout, Operate Lifting Mechanism. As per KLG Underground Mining Classification Guideline
- Haulage & where required Rock Breaker Operations
- Perform work to safely meet productivity expectations and schedules
- Housekeeping – keep work areas clean and free from hazards
- Communication – from and with others, recording accurate records on 5 point (Zero Hazard) card, aligning with daily tasks assigned
- Teamwork – complete set tasks and actively assist others to complete their tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
Our ideal candidate has:
- Physically Fit, self starter with
- Tolerance for hot, cold and humid environment
- Demonstrated Safety awareness
- Literacy and Numeracy to minimum year/grade 10
- UG Common Core skills training
- UG Mining Knowledge
- Similar Role type experience in another industry
